All Japan ARDF Championships 2000 Held

On Sunday, November 12, 2000, All Japan ARDF Championships 2000 was held in Iwase-Gun, Fukushima-ken under the auspices of JARL. Competitors numbered 160!! including 8 from Mongolia.
The site of said competition was "Iwase-Mura," a beautiful rural district area.
The opening ceremony, which was held at the "Iwase-Mura Athletic Ground" from 8:30 a.m., was followed by speeches of welcome and encouragment by Mr. Toshiharu Takeuchi (JM1MNW, Executive Director of JARL) and others. The chief jury then gave a detailed explanation of the competition. Because of TX arrengment trouble, the actual competition commenced at 11:30 a.m. with the first group of 15 making a start for the goal. They were followed by 15-competitor groups at intervals of 5 minutes, until the last group made a start at 12:30.

They ran freely in forest areas, surrounded with greenery aiming at transmitters. All of the competitors were greeted with warm applause when he or she reached the goal, drenched with sweat, and covered with splashes of mud.
