Scope of operation of a radio station for the amateur radio service
permitted for various classes of amateur radio operators
and to diverse kind of professional radio operators

Qualification

Scope of operation

Amateur First-Class Radio Operator(*)
Operation of any radio equipment of an amateur radio station
Amateur Second-Class Radio Operator (**)
Operation of any radio equipment with its power not exceeding 200 watts to be supplied to the antenna of an amateur radio station
Amateur Third-Class Radio Operator
{Amateur Telegraph-Class Radio Operator
Operation of any radio equipment with its power not exceeding 50 watts to be supplied to the antenna on any appropriate frequencies above 18 MHz or below 8 MHz of an amateur radio station
Amateur Fourth-Class Radio Operator {Amateur Telephone-Class Radio Operator} (***)

Operation of any radio equipment of an amateur radio station (except the operation of Morce code communications) as to the following:
1. the power not exceeding 10 watts to be supplied to the antenna on any appropriate frequencies between 21 MHz and 30 MHz or below 8 MHz
2. the power not exceeding 20 watts to be supplied to the antenna on any appropriate frequencies above 30 MHz

Notes: Following professional radio operator's qualifications include amateur radio operator's privileges. (See 2.4.3 2nd paragraph)
