Technical faculties of various class amateur radio operators
State examination subjects for radio operators' certificates of
the amateur radio service


1. For the Amateur First-Class Radio Operator:

a) Knowledge of laws and regulations
Outline of:

    - the Radio Law and the pertinent Orders and Ordinances;
    - the International Telecommunication Convention and its Radio Regulations.
    - International Morse code

b) Radio technology
Outline of:

    - the principles and applications of theory on radio equipment and radio
    propagation;
    - the principles of radio wave measuring instruments and methods of radio wave
    measuring;
    - the maintenance and operation of radio equipment.

2. For the Amateur Second-Class Radio Operator:

a) Knowledge of laws and regulations
Outline of:

    - the Radio Law and the pertinent Orders and Ordinances;
    - the International Telecommunication Convention and its Radio Regulations.
    - International Morse code

b) Radio technology
Basic knowledge of:

    - the principles and applications of theory on radio equipment and radio
    propagation;
    - the principles of radio wave measuring instruments and methods of radio wave
    measuring;
    - the maintenance and operation of radio equipment.

3. For the Amateur Third-Class Radio Operator:

a) Knowledge of laws and regulations
Brief outline of:

    - the Radio Law and the pertinent Orders and Ordinances;
    - the International Telecommunication Convention and its Radio Regulations;
    - International Morse code.

b) Radio technology
Elementary knowledge of:

    - the principles and applications of theory on radio equipment and radio
    propagation;
    - the principles of radio wave measuring instruments and methods of radio wave
    measuring;
    - the maintenance and operation of radio equipment.

4. For the Amateur Fourth-Class Radio Operator:

a) Knowledge of laws and regulations
Brief outline of:

    - the Radio Law and the pertinent Orders and Ordinances;

b) Radio technology
Elementary knowledge of:

    - the principles and applications of theory on radio equipment and radio
    propagation;
    - the maintenance and operation of radio equipment
