The 79th　New Year QSO Party Rule -- 2026

Please join us for New Year's greetings and your first QSO of the year.

1. Event Dates and Times

January 2, 2026, 00:00 UTC to January 7, 12:00 (UTC)

2. Participation

All amateur radio stations and SWLs.

3. Bands and Modes

All bands and Modes permitted for JA amateur radio stations.

4. Participation Categories

• Amateur Station (Code Number………30)
• SWL　　　　　(Code Number………31)

5. Communication Methods, etc.

(1) Calling

• Phone…CQ NEW YEAR PARTY
• CW…CQ NYP

(2) Exchange Information

RS(T) or signal strength report of the other station + operator's name (including handle name, initials, etc.)

(3)Contacts

JA stations: JA stations may contact any other stations.
DX stations: DX stations may only contact JA stations.

6. General Rules For All Entrants

• Use of repeaters is prohibited.

7. LOG Submission

• Amateur stations or SWLs who have made 20 or more QSOs or receptions with JA stations must submit their logs using either method 1) or 2) below.
  
• 1) Electronic Log Submission
  Upload a text log file in Cabrillo or JARL electronic log format via the log submission web page, or email it in text format to nyp@jarl.org.
  
• 2) Paper Log Submission
  Mail a paper summary and log in JARL format (or equivalent, A4 size) to: JARL, New Year QSO Party, 170-8073, Japan
• 3) Log Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026

8. Participation Commemorative Stickers

Amateur stations and SWLs who submit logs will receive a commemorative sticker (see photo above) upon request.

For electronic logs

Commemorative stickers will be sent as electronic data. (Paper type commemorative stickers will not be sent.)
To request commemorative stickers: When submitting documents, enter your email address in the field of the electronic log.

For paper logs

A Paper type commemorative sticker will be sent via the return envelope.
JA stations requesting a commemorative sticker should include a return envelope (a standard-size envelope with your postal code, address, name, and return postage affixed) when submitting logs.
DX stations requesting a commemorative sticker should include a return envelope (SAE) and 2 IRCs when submitting logs.

Commemorative stickers will not be sent in the following cases:
In the event of a violation of these rules.
If there are any false statements in the submitted logs.
