Commemorative Stations


JARL is pleased to announce that unique callsigns, 8M1C, 8N1C, 8J1C, 8J2C, 8N3C, 8J3C, 8J6C, 8J7C, 8J8C and 8J0C have been issued for special event stations to be established to commemorate the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan(TM). They will be on the air from May 1 to June 30, 2002 and will be operated by local hams with the support of JARL.

They will be equipped to allow simultaneous operation on all bands from 1.9 - 1200MHz. JARL hopes them to make many QSOs with radio amateurs all over the world. Attractive commemorative cards will be sent to you from JARL Bureau (No need to send your card.)

"2002 Suffix-C" Award Program


Requirements
Please make contact with one (or more) of the above mentioned suffix-C stations, and send a list of contacts (No need to receive QSL cards) furnished with the call signs of stations worked (heard), dates, bands and modes of the contact (reception) to JARL Award Desk (1-14-5, Sugamo, Toshima-ku, Tokyo 170-8073 Japan)

Fees
Overseas: 8 IRCs or US$8.- or 1000JPY
JARL Members: 500JPY
Non JARL Members: 1,000JPY

Period
Only contacts (receptions) made from May 1, 2002 through June 30, 2002 will be acceptable. JARL will start accepting the applications on May 1, 2002, and will close on December 31, 2002.

Endorsement
Applicants can request for maximum three of the following 4 endorsements.
(1) Single Band
(2) Single Mode
(3) QRP (QRPp)
(4) Satellite
